Erik Kakes | International Sales & Marketing Director, Applikon Biotechnology

Erik Kakes graduated in 1984 from van’t Hoff Institute in Rotterdam with specialization in Biochemistry.  From 1984 until 1988 he worked for a sugar producing company, Cosun, optimizing Xanthan gum production. In 1988 he joined Applikon Biotechnology as a project manager. Via the R&D department he moved into Sales to become International Sales & Marketing Director. In 2008 he acquired the ownership of Applikon Biotechnology with Arthur Oudshoorn and Jaap Oostra through a management buyout. In 2020 the Swedish Getinge group acquired the shares of  Applikon Biotechnology.
