How to find a job after your PhD or Postdoc?

Considering a non-academic career? You're not alone. Today an increasing number of graduate students are opting for careers outside of academia. For some, the academic job market is not the right fit and other career possibilities may suit better. Others have made a decision to seek work outside academia for a variety of personal and professional reasons. For many PhD's and Postdocs the non-academic world is a black box. Informational interviews, networking and LinkedIn are good ways to explore the non-academic labour market. To get hired you need to be able to translate the skills and experience you acquired during your PhD to the industry context.
