About Robert McDonough | Senior Director for Clinical Policy Research & Development , Aetna

Robert McDonough is chair of the EXCITE International Payers Advisory Committee.  He is Senior Director for Clinical Policy Research & Development at Aetna, where he is responsible for developing medical policies. He is also a member of the governing board of the Systemic Review Data Repository. He has special interests in preventive health services, technology assessment, and outcomes research. He is a former senior analyst and project director with the Health Program of the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment. He is a graduate of Duke University School of Medicine and School of Law (J.D.), and has a master’s degree in policy analysis from Duke's Sanford Institute of Public Policy. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.
