Dr. Schmitt is the Principal of Sinefield. He is the former Director of R&D at Protix and remains the Head of IP on an advisory basis. He has consulted for numerous companies in technology and finance and was the statistical advisor to the start of the California Data Collaborative, a statewide initiative to consolidate water utility data for smart water policy. He was an economist at NERA economic consulting where he advised on complex IP valuation, among other topics.
