Martine Breteler is a postdoc and Technical Physician at the Departments of Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine and Digital Health at the University Medical Center Utrecht. She’s working as a program manager together with clinicians to implement continuous vital signs monitoring with wearable sensor technology on low-care wards. Besides she is uncovering the possibilities of safely deploying 24/7 continuous monitoring technology in patients discharged home early or managed at home instead of in hospital. Her research primarily focuses on reliability of wireless monitoring technology and the applicability of remote monitoring for early recognition of patient deterioration both in-hospital and in patients monitored at home.
