After completing Medical School at the Radboud University Nijmegen, Misha Luyer combined a PhD program with surgical training and graduated in 2006. After finishing his surgical training, he started as a fellow in 2010 and became a consultant in 2012 both at the Catharina Hospital Eindhoven. His research focuses on improvement of care in complex surgery with a special focus on Upper GI and pancreatic surgery. As part of the Eindhoven Medtech Innovation Center (E/MTIC) he was appointed at the TU/e in 2021 as a research associate at the Department of Electrical Engineering. He has published more than 250 articles, contributed to several book chapters and was listed on several patent applications.
