Noortje Bax | Chair, 4TU.Health Centre
I am passionate about fostering collaboration between technology, (bio)medical science, and industry to improve healthcare. As a Project Development Officer (PDO) at the Centre for Care & Cure Technology (C3TE) at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and the chair (a.i.) of the 4TU.Health centre, I work to bridge technical universities, businesses, and healthcare institutions to address healthcare challenges through technological innovations.
I hold a master’s degree in biology from Radboud University Nijmegen, specializing in Medical Biology. My PhD research at Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC) focused on translating heart development processes during the embryonic phase into solutions for cardiac recovery and tissue regeneration in adults. My postdoctoral work at TU/e explored regenerative medicine applications for cardiac repair, supported by a Junior Dekker grant from the Dutch Heart Foundation and an EMBO-fellowship at the Laboratory for Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering at Columbia University Medical Centre (New York, USA).
Living by the motto, "If it excites you and scares you at the same time, it probably means you should do it,", I became a PDO at C3Te in 2019 to further strengthen my dedication in creating synergy between researchers, medical centres, and industry. Through 4TU.Health, I aim to emphasize the importance of health technology, bring together the right people to realize impactful healthcare innovations.
