Dr Rob Williams is Chief Drug Development Scientist at Cancer Research UK’s Centre for Drug Development. In his role Rob leads scientific and medical research teams with accountability for delivery of a large portfolio of early drug development programmes including small molecules, antibodies, cell and gene therapies. Rob has previously held leadership positions in a number of therapeutic areas outside of cancer and has a wide breadth of experience in strategic and operational business planning gained from working in the pharma, biotech and not-for-profit sectors. Rob has acted as a scientific advisor for a number of non-commercial and commercial research organisations, is a trustee of the PTEN research foundation and co-founded Duke Street Bio, a virtual drug discovery and development company focused on exploiting cancer vulnerabilities
