The health care sector in The Netherlands is facing surging costs and shortage of personnel, making healthcare unsustainable at the longer term and restricting access to it for those in need.  Technological innovations can provide solutions for many of these challenges, especially when they bring relief to health care workers, improve health outcomes for patients and reduce costs. 

The mission of TNO is to create impactful innovations. In this session, we present a selection of our technological developments that aim to enable healthcare transformations in close collaboration with partners from the healthcare network. Topics include digital therapeutics using wearables, privacy preserving use of ICT technologies, personalized medicine enabled by 3D printing technology, retinal oximetry imaging for early disease diagnosis and photonics-based molecular diagnostics for broad biomarker profiling. The session will have the format of short pitches followed by a short question and answer session with the TNO experts.
