Herman van Vlijmen |  Global Head Computer Aided Drug Design, Johnson & Johnson

Herman van Vlijmen graduated with a Master’s degree in Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences at Leiden University and received his PhD degree in Physical Chemistry from Harvard University. He worked 9 years at the biotech company Biogen in Boston in the computational design of small molecule and protein therapeutics.  In 2005 he joined Janssen in Belgium and is now Global Head of Computer Aided Drug Design. Since 2008 he is also Adjunct Professor of Computational Drug Discovery at Leiden University. Herman has more than 100 publications and is inventor on 8 patents.
