Remco Jongkind's aim is to help people move their careers forward by coordinating the Talent Accelerator Programme for BioBusiness at Hyphen Projects. Furthermore he is responsible for the Dutch labour market research of the Health and Life Science Academy, an EU funded consortium. This allows him to obtain a good overview of the current needs of employers. Besides his job at Hyphen Projects he also works as a lecturer at the faculty of medicine at the University of Amsterdam.
His background is in Biochemistry (Amsterdam University College) and Pharmacology (University of Oxford). His Life Science background allows him to relate to the problems faced by young professionals in finding their career paths. During his career he especially enjoyed helping others and teaching, e.g at the University of Amsterdam and Oxford.

This presentation will explain what a business model consists of, how you can recognize these aspects in companies and how this can benefit you. Subsequently we will discuss the companies that have been featured during the winter school and examine their business models and setup. You will be provided with a number of questions at the end which you can use to analyze businesses yourself. Jobs & Career Paths in Life Sciences This presentation will provide you with an overview of the Life Science sector in the Benelux. Which type of companies are there, where are they located, which kind of jobs are out there? Lastly you will be handed a few tools which you can use to examine which companies and jobs are the right fit for you. These tools you can later also use during the meet your match sessions.
