I am a scientist by training, I received a PhD in Molecular Biology from Maastricht University in 2024. I am originally from Estonia where I received my Bachelor’s from Tallinn University of Technology, and Master’s from Umeå University in Sweden. After my PhD, I did a fellowship at M Ventures, the Venture Capital arm of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, focusing on Biotechnology and Life Science proposals. Since last July, I work as a Business Developer for the National Growthfund-funded program Biotech Booster. I combine these duties with my position at the knowledge transfer office of Eindhoven University of technology, called The Gate. In both roles my goal is the same – help promising scientific innovations to reach the public and create a meaningful impact on society. As a Business developer I scout for ideas, help scientific founders with funding applications, connect them to relevant partners, and coach in their journey of becoming entrepreneurs.
