We do science to feed a future of sustainable well-being

This presentation will introduce IRTA (Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology) as a leading public research institution committed to excellence in the agrifood sector. It will outline IRTA’s mission to advance sustainable innovation, enhance sector competitiveness, and contribute to the transformation of food systems in Catalonia and globally. Keu research domains climate change resilience, sustainable intensification of production, One Health, digitalization and transformative tecnologies.The session will also highlight career development opportunities and incentives for researchers within IRTA. Finally, three success cases will demonstrate IRTA’s capacity to translate research into tangible scientific, economic, and societal impact.

Ana Casadellà | Coordinator of Researcher developement | IRTA

Anna Casadellà holds a degree in Chemistry and a Master’s in Water Science and Technology from the University of Girona (Spain), and a PhD on ion-selective membranes for nutrient recovery for fertilization, conducted at the University of Groningen and Wetsus (NL). After several years as a researcher in a technology centre, she found her vocation in supporting researchers’ career development. She currently serves as Coordinator of Researcher Development at IRTA, within the Research Support and Scientific Strategy Department, contributing to the design and implementation of policies and practices that foster attractive working environments and promote excellence and impact in agrifood research.
