Since 2021 Kolja Adamczyk is part of the Pharma & Life Science team within NLO-Ipsilon, which is focussed on supporting Pharma clients building and protecting IP portfolio’s for novel pharmaceutical compounds, pharmaceutical formulations, and therapeutic applications thereof. Kolja Adamczyk is Dutch and European patent attorney. 

The Pharma & Life Science team of NLO-Ipsilon has extensive experience in world-wide patent protection for medical innovations, patent litigation, clinical development, Freedom to Operate, Due diligence support, Life Cycle Management, Loss of Exclusivity, SPC, and options for medical indications, including drug repurposing programs. 

Kolja Adamczyk has a background in chemistry, worked in product development in industry, and he found that he is passionate about the strategic importance and impact of IP development on product innovation, and at the same time the in-depth and complex knowledge, which is in particular relevant within the pharma field. He has developed within the Pharma team a spectre of activities in patent portfolio building in (early) drug discovery, lead optimizations, medical indication protection, and clinical trial development. 

Kolja is also part of NLO’s European Case law team, which frequently publishes summaries on EPO Case law developments, see: https://www.nlo.eu/en/epo-case-law-team, and he follows the importance of modelling based or model-assisted drug development, with the promises to accelerate drug developments, and he identifies options and challenges to establish IP patent protection within the IP legal framework based on these models approaches.
