Sabien van der Schoot, Pharm.D, PhD, is a pharmacist and drug development professional with more than 24 years of experience in pharmaceutical and biotech development. She holds a PhD in pharmaceutical formulation development and has worked across a broad range of therapeutic and technology areas, including small molecules, vaccines and biotechnology products.

Throughout her career, Sabien has held scientific, CMC, project management, business development and leadership positions, including Head of Project Management, Head of Business Development and Managing Director. Her expertise spans formulation development, CMC strategy, clinical drug development, CDMO selection & management, technology transfer, project execution and the translation of scientific innovation towards clinical development.

Sabien is currently active as an independent consultant through Avireos Advisory, supporting pharmaceutical and biotech companies with CMC, project management and strategic development challenges. She is also Program Director of InFECT-TT, part of the Thematische Technologie Transfer (TTT) Infectious Diseases, a grant provided by the Dutch Government. InFECT-TT has been established by the InFECT-NL consortium. This consortium is focused on accelerating innovation and venture development in the field of infectious diseases. In this role, she is accountable for the scouting, screening and acceleration of innovations in the field of  prophylactic and therapeutic treatments related to infectious diseases.
