Saturn Pelvic Health, giving women with POP back their daily freedom and dignity
Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is a highly prevalent condition affecting nearly half of women over the age of 40. It causes significant physical discomfort, repeated medical consultations, and a profound impact on quality of life. Current treatment options, particularly pessaries, are limited by their generic design. They often require multiple fitting sessions, lack adjustability, and are associated with side effects that lead to high discontinuation rates. This project addresses these limitations by developing a new generation of pessary that combines clinical effectiveness with patient comfort and autonomy. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution, the device is adjustable to the unique anatomy and changing needs of each individual woman. By integrating insights from patients, gynecologists, and general practitioners, as well as extensive literature reviews and clinical evaluations, the design has evolved to reduce fitting sessions, improve comfort, and enable self-management.Our medical device has progressed through iterative prototyping, clinical feasibility tests, and collaborations with industrial partners to ensure medical-grade production. Alongside the technical development, aesthetic and usability aspects have been refined based on direct patient feedback, highlighting the importance of both functionality and user acceptance. The ultimate aim is to deliver a certified, scalable medical device that relieves the burden on healthcare systems while restoring autonomy and dignity to women living with POP. By offering a safe, effective, and adjustable treatment, our product paves the way for a meaningful improvement in women’s health and well-being.
