Bertholt Leeftink is Managing Director of the Oncode Institute, where he is responsible for strategy, governance, and valorization — three core pillars underpinning the institute’s long-term vision and impact. In this role, he plays a key part in strengthening the connection between world-class oncology research and meaningful societal and economic outcomes. He brings extensive experience at the intersection of government, innovation, and business. Drawing on the expertise gained in previous leadership roles, Bertholt contributes to further strengthening Oncode Institute’s strategic positioning and governance framework, with the aim of accelerating the translation of scientific breakthroughs into patient benefit and sustainable value creation.

Prior to joining Oncode Institute, Bertholt served as CEO of NRG PALLAS (2019–2024), a global leader in the production of medical isotopes. Earlier, he was Director-General for Enterprise and Innovation at the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy.
