During her master’s in Personalized Medicine at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Lema realized she wanted to step outside the hospital walls to create broader impact. Rather than focusing solely on patient care, she became interested in how innovation, investment, and collaboration can shape the future of healthcare.

This led her to complete her major internship at Oost NL, the regional development agency of East Netherlands, where she conducted research on drug repurposing.

At Oost NL, she found her way to making impact through direct investments in healthcare innovation, particularly in digital health, medtech, and biotech. Today, she works as an investment analyst, focusing on identifying and supporting promising technologies that can improve healthcare outcomes and create lasting societal impact.
