Mark Vrancken Peeters| CEO | Octovascular
Mark’s
professional life revolved around the concept of suturing. After a career as
vascular surgeon, he founded Mellon Medical, a company that developed an
automated suturing device for vascular surgeons to suture faster and with more
precision in challenging vascular procedures. He continued his path as Chief
Medical Officer of Microsure. Managing all clinical aspects of a microsurgical
robot, that performs on the cusp of what is humanly possible, connecting blood
vessels of less than 1 mm in diameter. Today, Mark is the CEO of OctoVascular,
a company that is developing a coronary vessel connector to enable cardiac
surgeons to perform coronary bypass surgery in a minimally invasive way. With
his dual understanding of the medical and technology world, while combining his
extensive start- and scale-up experience, he will be able to add value to the
team and together transform OctoVascular into a promising new business.
OctoVascular B.V.
OctoVascular is developing an automated coronary anastomotic device, to enable cardiac surgeons to perform bypass surgery in a minimally invasive way. The reloadable, single patient use device contains a delivery system and multiple vessel connectors. The vessel connectors are crimped on coronary arteries and grafts with ease of use and in a consistent way, to benefit many patients in delivering shorter hospital stay and early recovery from bypass surgery.
