Rogier van den Braak has a masters degree in business economics from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and is a Certified Public Auditor in The Netherlands. The first half of his career, Rogier has practiced as a Public Auditor at the Amsterdam municipality. In 2008 Rogier joined the Sanquin Blood Supply Foundation and performed different financial roles, and ultimately served as CFO. In 2020 Sanquin separated the private activities of the Blood Bank organization into Sanquin Health Solutions as a separate company, and after leading this transformation, Rogier was appointed managing director. After the successful sale of Prothya Biosolutions and Essange Reagents, Sanquin Health Solutions is now focusing on Research, Diagnostics and Valorization of Sanquin based knowledge. SHS is also building a new Amsterdam based life science ecosystem, Health & Innovation District Amsterdam, bringing together organizations that work on the medical solutions for the next generations.
