Astrid Rijken-Knol is trained as a medical doctor with a diverse career spanning clinical practice, research, commercial leadership, and medical affairs. After studying medicine and working in surgery and research, she transitioned to the pharmaceutical industry for GSK for five years. Her passion for healthcare innovation led her to consulting, supporting both Pharma, MedTech companies, and patient organizations.Thereafter, Astrid joined Philips as Global Marketing Manager before making a pivotal move into Medical Affairs at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicin. Over the past 7.5 years, she has held key roles including Medical Lead for Solid Tumors in the Benelux, EMEA Medical Director for Bladder Cancer, and, since July 2025, Country Medical Director Netherlands.
