Christiaan Klijn is the Vice President, Head of Discovery Data Science & Target Discovery at Genmab. He oversees the integration of computational biology with advanced machine learning and data-driven methods to revolutionize antibody development, target discovery and enhance disease biology understanding. His teams contribute to Genmab’s early Discovery pipeline with next generation target discovery and the application of omics data, AI/ML in protein development, and high-throughput image-based analytics.

Prior to his current role, Klijn worked at Genentech in South San Francisco, leading a team focused on target finding, biomarker discovery, and the utilization of genomics technologies in (immune)oncology research. His academic career began with a PhD from the Netherlands Cancer Institute and Delft University of Technology, where he developed key algorithms for genome-scale data analysis, particularly in DNA copy number analysis and next-generation sequencing.
