Dr. Cuypers obtained her PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences-Toxicology at KU Leuven (Belgium). She did a Postdoc in Forensic Toxicology (KU Leuven) and in Mass Spectrometry Imaging at AMOLF (Amsterdam, The Netherlands). Her postdoctoral research on visualizing drug distribution in hair with mass spectrometry imaging was awarded with four international prices. From 2014 to 2019 she was Assistant Professor Forensic Toxicology focusing on analytical technologies and method development (KU Leuven). In 2019 she moved to Maastricht MultiModal Molecular Imaging Institute (M4i, University Maastricht), a state-of-the-art international research institute with innovative molecular imaging technologies. Currently, she is Associate Professor and Group Leader of the research group ‘Mass Spectrometry Imaging in Peri-Operative Diagnostics’.
