Francesca Grisoni
Assistant Professor in Biological Engineering, TU Eindhoven
Dr. Francesca Grisoni is an Assistant Professor at the Eindhoven University of Technology. Her research focuses on developing machine learning approaches tailored to drug discovery, at the interface between computation and experimental validation. Francesca received her Ph.D. in the group of Prof. Roberto Todeschini (University of Milano-Bicocca), working on interpretable molecular machine learning for property prediction. After working in industry for a year, she joined at ETH Zurich (Prof. Gisbert Schneider’s group) as a postdoctoral researcher and worked on scaffold hopping approaches and generative deep learning. In 2021, she was appointed as an Assistant Professor at TU/e. Her current team works at the intersection of chemistry, biology, and computer science, to advance the potential of machine learning for drug discovery. Dr. Grisoni’s research has been recognized several prizes and grants, such as an ERC Starting Grant, the Excellence Award from the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS), and the KNAW Early Career Award.
