Martijn van Faassen received his PhD from the University of Groningen in 2020. He works as a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Ido Kema at the University Medical Center Groningen, Department of Laboratory Medicine, specifically within the Special Chemistry Laboratory. The lab is focused on patient care in the field of endocrinology and oncology. In 2023, Martijn spend three months as a visiting scholar in the lab of Pieter Dorrestein at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) to gain experience on metabolomics and their data analysis tools.  His current research focus includes mass spectrometry method development, dynamic sampling techniques and reverse metabolomics.
