Sander is a biomedical scientist with a focus on polynucleotides and nano-particle drugs. He holds a Msc in Biomedical Sciences from the Radboud University Nijmegen and performed his PhD on messenger RNA (mRNA)-based drugs under the supervision of Prof. Brock. Based on this experience, he founded Mercurna in 2017 to develop mRNA-based drugs and spun-off RIBOPRO, a technology and service provider on mRNA and LNPs in 2020. Over the past 4 years, he has guided RIBOPRO through an exciting start-up period, accumulating in a successful series A funding round in July 2024. He combines his management and scientific skills to support over 270 customers worldwide with the latest mRNA / LNP technology in their research, therapeutic and vaccine ambitions.
