Tessa de Korte is the Director of Biology at Sync Biosystems, a Leiden-based start-up founded in 2022. She earned her Master’s degree (cum laude) in Bio-pharmaceutical Sciences from Leiden University, specializing in Pharmacology and Stem Cell Biology. Tessa began her professional career at Ncardia, a biotech company specializing in human iPSC technology, where she worked as an Application Specialist. In this role, she played a key part in designing R&D programs, delivering drug safety and efficacy testing services, and providing scientific support to partners and customers. In 2019, she pursued a PhD in a collaborative project between the Leiden University Medical Center and Ncardia. Her research focused on developing high-throughput applications to assess human stem cell-based cardiac 3D (disease) models. Since November 2022, Tessa has been with Sync Biosystems, where she continues to drive innovation in industrial research.
